This is a large Salt Lake Temple made from paper. (cardstock) You can print this from your home computer – You do NOT need a 3d printer to make this.
This is not a typical LDS paper toy. Usually, LDS paper toys are really simple and can be put together quickly and easily. This isn’t that. The real Salt Lake Temple took 40 years to build. This temple makes you feel that way, but it only takes a day or two.
But, if you are looking for a 1-foot long, detailed, Salt Lake Temple that you can print from your own paper printer, you’ve come to the right place. Check out the “Quick Look” to see it all coming together in time lapse.

- Scissors
- Tape

- (optional) gold spray paint – if you want to make your Moroni totally awesome

I just finished the temple for my Personal Project Faith project. I love it except for the roof. The small flaps that go between the towers are too short. I noticed on the video it looks like you extended the roof top. Can you make a new page with a correct roof top? I can easily replace this one. Thank you so much for this awesome project!

Sarah, glad you enjoyed it. In answer to your question about the roof, I was limited by the physical size of a sheet of paper and didn’t want to print too close to the edge. so it ended up too short. The short term solution for you is to print out another copy of the roof. Then, cut off the 4 ends. Use those ends to cover that gap. (tape it underneath) In the future, I’ll add those 4 pieces as separate pieces with some instructions. thanks for the feedback.

Thank you so much for making these available to us! So excited to have found your website and to be able make all of your 3D temples!!! I’m from Hawaii and this year our Laie Hawaii Temple is celebrating 100 years. It’s the first temple that was built outside of the United States. If you’re thinking about creating more 3D temples, can I please ask for you to consider our Laie Hawaii Temple? It would make it so special if my family/ primary class could make a 3D of our temple on this special occasion.

It might be a bit of a challenge to make to scale while keeping the details large enough. (I prefer keeping to scale) A lot of the lower part is long uneven blank roof area. The temple was built to be viewed from the ground. When you view from above, you see a lot of blank roof area. That being said, I’ll see what I can do. I can do it, but the usual details (the part of the temple that is usually shown in pictures) may be smaller than you would like because I’m keeping the scale accurate. If you are okay with that, I will give it a go.

I’ve made a paper model of the Cardston, Alberta Temple to be cut out on my Cricut. I’ve done a 2″ square one and a 12″ square one. I would be very interested in being allowed to adapt your large model to be cut out by a Cricut on a much smaller scale. It would not have the brick or picture details, just the cut outs and windows. The Cardston Temple is very similar to the Laie Hawaii one.
